Kinjia Munkara-Murray is an Indigenous scientist and emerging leader with experience across government, community, corporate and research sectors.

Kinjia currently works at Melbourne Water supporting Traditional Owner partnerships, embedding culturally grounded outcomes into land and water management and statutory decision-making.

She is a Board Observer with the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife through the Australian Indigenous Governance Institute’s Emerging Directors Program. Kinjia is also an Ambassador for DeadlyScience and holds a Master of Science (Bioscience) with Honours from The University of Melbourne.

Kinjia brings deep expertise in stakeholder engagement and collaboration with First Nations communities, particularly in environmental policy and catchment management. Kinjia is committed to strengthening governance systems that integrate Indigenous knowledge and deliver long-term environmental and community outcomes
