Our Reconciliation Action Plan

Watertrust Australia’s Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) outlines the actions Watertrust will take to strengthen relationships with First Nations peoples, increase organisational understanding of reconciliation and embed respectful practices within our work.  

Reconciliation is an ongoing journey. Through this Reflect RAP, Watertrust is taking the first step in building stronger foundations for meaningful engagement and learning.  

Why Reconciliation Matters 

Reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between First Nations peoples and the broader Australian community.  

For Watertrust, reconciliation means recognising the deep and enduring connection First Nations peoples have with land, water and culture, and ensuring our organisation approaches its work with respect, understanding and accountability.  

Our Vision for Reconciliation 

Our vision for reconciliation is that First Nations peoples’ knowledge, perspectives and cultural connections to Country are listened to, learned from, respected and embedded in water policy. We seek a future where the meaningful participation of First Nations peoples in water decision-making, alongside all those directly affected, enables better, fairer and more enduring water outcomes.
